What's Happening with U-Pass BC?

Congratulations!

As a result of working together, students at all publicly funded, post secondary institutions in BC now have the opportunity to join the new U-Pass BC program!

The program will provide unlimited, all zone access to public transit in Metro Vancouver at a greatly reduced price of $30 per month!

The next step is for students to vote on their schools' participation in the U-Pass program. If enough students vote yes, it will be up to the Institutions to decide when they will be able to distribute the passes.

Your Students’ Union will be holding a vote in the Fall, so please stop by the Students’ Union office or Welcome Week events to learn more.

More information about U-Pass BC is available on the TransLink website:

We are happy to be celebrating this victory with you!

Students fight U-Pass discrimination with song

Updated: Fri Sep. 11 2009 19:03:58

Thousands of post-secondary students in Metro Vancouver benefit from a break on transit fares by using TransLink's U-Pass program, but thousands of others don't.

Now, those without are urging the BC Liberal government to level the playing field -- through song.
